Bhagavad Gita - Adhyay 5 - Yoga of True Renunciation (Karma Sanyasa Yog) - Post 6

We have seen in the fourth chapter, Shri Krishna has perplexed Arjun, about the importance of both work in devotion and inaction in knowledge.

The fifth chapter of Bhagavad Gita is about practicality of Shri Krishna consciousness, generally known as Karma- Yoga. The Shri Krishna consciousness tells about the complete knowledge of the lord as the pre-dominator. The Krishna consciousness is related to Bhakti -Yoga,  and Jnana - Yoga is a path leading to Bhakti -Yoga. The real meaning of Shri Krishna consciousness is to work with dedication, because of which our relation with our mind stays at peace with our knowledge and the perfection of this consciousness is the actual knowledge of Shri Krishna.

When we talk about the Shri Krishna consciousness, it takes us into the spiritual life. A person who doesn't desire the fruits of his activities is called renowned person (Santulit Vyakti). Also the person who works in devotion, can never be entangled, while a greedy person gets in the entanglement.

Some people perform their duties without dedication and surrender the result to Shri Krishna, but inwardly renounce their fruits, but wise men purified by the fire of transcendental knowledge attain peace, detachment, forbearance, spiritual vision and bliss. Apart from this, one who lives in the Shri Krishna consciousness,  self intelligent and bewildered, never expects anything pleasant or unpleasant, but remains in the transcendental stage or in Bhrama -Nirvana in this world. Also a person who believes that Shri Krishna is supreme, attains peace from the pangs of material miseries.

Shri Krishna is not partial to anyone, but his performance depends on the person's performed duties in Shri Krishna consciousness, which helps one to control the sense in every respect and conquer the influence of desire and anger.

The path of renunciation is the path of Sankhya Yoga or the yoga of knowledge and wisdom. Shri Krishna advises to walk on the path of truth and be truthful to yourself. Here it means that when we devote to one of these paths, one can ultimately achieve both. The practice of meditation, renouncing the worldly pleasures and studying scriptures leads to wisdom of understanding true self and find a way out from all sufferings.

The path of Karma -Yoga also leads to wisdom. Shri Krishna explains the difference between the two paths and says that some people are rejected or abandoned by their circumstances and they accept it as fate and there are few people like Arjun, who seek the knowledge through yoga of action.
