Bhagavad Gita - Adhyay 10 - Divine Manifestation of Yoga (Vibhuti Yog)- post 11

In the 10th chapter of Bhagavad Gita, Shri Krishna continues to instruct Arjun about his nature as the Supreme manifestation of god.

As per Shri Krishna, all other gods and holy souls are actually manifestations of himself. Shri Krishna explains by giving examples such as the god of lightning (Surya Dev /Sun), Indra, claiming that he is Indra and Indra's lightning bolt.

Shri Krishna describes himself as both the positive and the negative attributes of the universe: both pleasure and pain, courage and fear. A person who can conceive of Shri Krishna as the source of all manifestation will be freed from the cycle of rebirth. When a sage meditates, he enters into the state of union with god. In this, Shri Krishna explains the form of worship. The highest of form of worship is to enter the state of divinity, we need to  understand that Shri Krishna is the source of everything.

After listening to Shri Krishna, Arjun started believing that everything Shri Krishna is telling him and making him understand is only the Supreme Being. Arjun wants to know about the other manifestations which Shri Krishna tells so that he may always know and recognize them. Shri Krishna then lists all of his embodiment and manifestation including the self, the syllable Om, the Himalayas mountain range, the sustainer God Vishnu, the God of destruction and rebirth Shiva, etc.

In this chapter, Shri Krishna explains about the yoga of understanding. Shri Krishna listed out all his forms but Arjun wants to know more about Shri Krishna's specific forms to be able to worship him properly. Arjun still doesn't understand that Shri Krishna is everywhere. Shri Krishna has been trying to explain that his current manifestation, as Shri Krishna in the chariot, is the best focus for worship of him. However, Arjun still desired to know about Shri Krishna's other divine forms even though Shri Krishna has been trying to explain them as ultimate form.

In the 10th verses of Bhagavad Gita, Shri Krishna explains about the clarity on the connection between the yoga action and the yoga of understanding. In other words, when a person worships Krishna in actions, the god then gives wisdom to that person. In this way, the yoga of action, leads to the yoga of understanding.
